UNITED WAY/2-1-1 ANNUAL COMMUNITY FOOD DRIVE BENEFITS LOCAL AGENCIES

United Way of Marshall County and 2-1-1/First Call for Help are working to help feed those in need as the holidays quickly approach. From now through December 31st, community members can participate in the United Way/2-1-1 Annual Community Food Drive to help feed Marshall County residents by dropping off canned goods and nonperishable items at various locations throughout the county. In an effort to keep the event contactless this year, there will be collection bins set up at the following locations throughout our community:

  • Arab Foodland
  • Arab Warehouse Discount Grocery
  • Arab Chamber of Commerce

Now, more than ever, the need for the community’s support is tremendous. Due to the pandemic, many individuals and families do not have enough food for their families. Any donations contributed are of great help. Suggested food items include pasta, peanut butter, jelly, mac and cheese, cereal, canned vegetables, canned meats, canned fruits and canned soup. All the food collected benefits local non-profit organizations, including CASA of Marshall County, Marshall County Homeless Ministries, Domestic Violence Crisis Services/Kelley’s Rainbow, Meals on Wheels, Second Chance Food Pantry and TESA.

If you do not have time to shop and want to make a financial contribution, you may do so by mailing a check to 709 Blount Avenue, Guntersville, AL 35976. Please make checks payable to United Way of Marshall County and note on your check that your contribution is designated for the food drive.
